Another round of Pretty Girls Sew’s Rippin Ain’t Easy sewing contest is complete. For round 3, we were instructed to use McCalls pattern M6706 to create a skirt using any of the views. We were also to create a top to go along with the skirt. The twist was that our look was to be color blocked. (more…)
I made it to round 2 of Pretty Girls Sew’s sewing competition. YAY me!! I can’t say I was super excited about my last submission but hey, I made it. Thanks so much to all that voted for me. I can’t tell you how excited I am about returning to creating garments again, especially ones for myself. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy creating for others but sometimes it feels so refreshing to work on a project for myself. I’m sure other creative people can relate to this odd sense of thinking.
When the ladies of Pretty Girls Sew announced they were having a sewing contest, my level of excitement peaked. I’ve taken part in a few of their monthly sew-alongs (see here and here) and really love their enthusiasm for sewing. So imagine how much fun their Rippin Ain’t Easy Sewing Competition will be, for me at least. Along with 8 other contestants, I will be creating garments using sewing patterns that are selected for us. You, the readers, will have the difficult task of judging our final looks. Voting starts tomorrow for the Rippin Ain’t Easy Sewing Competition. Wish me luck and don’t forget to check back tomorrow for my garment pictures.
